What is Treasury Stock ?
The stock that a company issues to the public and later repurchases is known as “treasury stock.” After the repurchase, this stock is placed in the company’s treasury and does not receive dividends or have voting rights. It is held as a part of the company’s own equity, and its purpose can vary, including employee stock plans, reissuing in the market, or other strategic reasons.
