What is Registration ?
The process by which a company that wants to go public files a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is known as the “SEC registration process.” This statement contains a detailed description of the company, its management, and its financial information. The SEC reviews this material to ensure its completeness, level of disclosure, and the accuracy of accounting information. Once the SEC declares the registration statement effective, the company can start trading its shares to the public on the stock market. This process is essential for a company to become publicly traded and raise capital from investors.
