What is Hot Issue ?
An IPO that trades at a significantly higher price on the secondary market compared to its initial offering price is known as a “hot issue.” This situation typically arises when the demand for the IPO far surpasses the available supply. According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), an issue is considered hot when it trades 5% higher than its offering price in the secondary market.
